Duties:
The Maintenance Mechanic performs maintenance of Community Treatment Solutions facilities (an affiliate of Legacy Treatment Services), as well as Legacy buildings when needed. Actively participates in ongoing quality improvement activities o Legacy Treatment Services including but not limited to serving as a member of a quality improvement team, Consumer input, incident/accident and consumer grievance review, peer record review and Program evaluation/quality improvement projects. Works in conjunction with the Director of Facilities Management and Operations Maintenance Manager as well as independently on the daily tasks. May perform construction, renovation or rehabilitation of Agency facilities. Assists in coordination of preparation of buildings for occupancy. Inspects buildings for needed maintenance and repairs. Sets good example and maintains a safe working environment. Schedules HVAC and boiler preventative maintenance. Coordinates outside contractor repairs. Assists with inspection of Fire, Sanitary, and Alarms. Coordinates and/or assist with monthly fire drills. Operates basic power tools, i.e. table saw, overarm saw, drill press and all manual tools to perform the prescribed work. Maintain and monitor inventory of maintenance related items. Maintains quality standards and offers good example to others in the work unit. Makes recommendations on the effective use, repair, control, purchase or care of the physical plant. Maintains and repairs plumbing and electrical wiring and fixtures in accordance with building codes. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, grounds equipment, shop equipment and Agency vehicles. As needed, paints the interior and exterior of Agency buildings. Makes necessary repairs to furniture and physical structure. Provides necessary care of grounds to include snow and ice removal. Works independently with minimum supervision. Provides emergency, on-call coverage as needed. Required to drive Agency vehicles. May be required to lift 50 pounds or more. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President/and or Director of Facilities Management.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma plus 5 years’ experience in maintenance of buildings and grounds, or associated craft trade. Knowledge of standard tools, equipment, materials, and methods involved in maintenance and repair, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and painting. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Certifications are desirable and preferred. Must be familiar with local, State and Federal codes to include BOCA, OSHA, and NFPA.
Hours:
Full time, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and emergency on-call coverage as needed. Overtime may be required based on demands of the Agency. Considered Essential Personnel and must report for work in all weather conditions.
